Review: Tankless Water Heater By Rinnai- The Hot Way To Heat Water

When my husband and I purchased our 1928 2-story Tudor home back in 2009 we knew we needed to save money for updates and needed repairs. We had just moved from a 3 bedroom apartment in Kansas to a 5 bedroom home in Kansas City, Missouri. When I first walked in for the viewing of the home I fell in love. Sure it had some "character" but what made me fall in love was the old creaky floors. Wait, are floors suppose to creek?? To me, it felt like home! My husband just looked at me like, "You have no idea what you're getting us into". He fell in love with it as well when he saw the beautiful old red-brick fireplace. I can't describe the house except that for us older generation it's like stepping back in time. A time where everything was real! The floors were made of actual wood, the wall made of plaster, not sheetrock. The sinks are porcelain, not stainless steel. The glass in the kitchen window pane had a ripple effect common of old windows back in the day. If these walls could talk! 

Anyways, back to saving money. The first thing we wanted to do was start saving money as this old home was going to have some updates done to help save money without taking away the rustic charm our home had.

We started researching tankless water heaters as we had heard that they ONLY heat up the water that's being used not re-heating the water in the conventional tank water heater over and over again.

If you're ever in your basement and hear your water heater shutting off and on and no one is using hot water then you know it's either using unnecessary electricity or natural gas. It's heating up water you're not using. Can you imagine how much money and electricity/gas is being wasted when you're not home for a week or so while you're on vacation?

So we decided to invest in a tankless water heater which cost around $2,000 to purchase and have it installed. 

The whole installation took maybe 4 hrs. for Anthony Plumbing Heating and Cooling

to finish the installation. I love these guys! Very professional and as you can see in the photos they know their business. These photos have been recently taken and the tankless is almost 10 years old now. I love how everything is labeled not just color coded.

If you know someone who is a certified plumber and can install one of the gems then I highly suggest purchasing one like this from Amazon. 

There is only one down-side that we've come to work around and that is 2 or more appliances cannot be running at the same time that requires hot water. Meaning, if you're taking a hot shower and running the dishwasher or washer your shower might not have the same water pressure as it would without running multiple hot water items at the same time. Only run one hot water appliance at a time.

Other than that we love our Rinnai Tankless Hotwater Heater!!

Plus, it saves lots of room in your basement as it's installed off the floor out of the way.

So here I am, a few weeks before my 52nd birthday and concerned about the appearance of my face. You know, wrinkles and all. I'm not a vain person by no means but I do believe in at least try to keep my face looking as healthy as possible. I have large facial pores (thanks mom) that I find hard to keep clean with all the product I use since, well, I'm getting older and my skin just doesn't have that peachy glow it once had nor the collagen. So I decided to give this sample of Merle Norman Purifying Peel Off Charcoal Mask a try. I was a little hesitant about putting charcoal on my face because its, you know, black and charcoal. "But wait", I thought to myself. "Charcoal is known for removing poisons in the body." This could be a good thing!  

I applied the charcoal tar looking product on my face, starting at my forehead then to my temples and so on. My first reaction was the cooling effect it had on my face after about a minute. When it started to dry I felt it tighten a little. "Sweet, a mini facelift!" I was thinking. I left it on my face till it was completely dry, maybe 45 min. I know that's longer than it needed to be on but I was kinda busy with the blog and such that I didn't see a rush. "Get all those impurities off my face!" I thought to myself.

I was totally mind blown when I was removing the mask from my forehead. It was removing all in one piece, I can see stuff on the mask that was in my pores! Whoah! Check that out! It got a majority of the gunk that was in my pores and whatever else that was on my face. I was highly impressed with this product! I did, however, dampen a washcloth to remove product leftover from the outlining areas of my face and that wasn't difficult at all. I LOVE this mask!! 

Here are a few tips:

• Makes sure you have washed your face beforehand with tepid water.
• Leave on face till COMPLETELY dry
• Rinse with cool water to make sure those pores close.
• Use a damp washcloth to easily remove any product left on your face.
• Use once a week

That's about it! I truly love Merle Norman Purifying Peel Off Charcoal Mask and I know you will too. If you are concerned about looking like, well, not dead, this is well worth the price.

If you have a dog you have to have dog toys. Whether it be stuffed dog toys, hard rubber toys, or rope toys such as the one my Maury has here. Depending on the size of dog you have the toy should be for that size dog. It goes without saying, you wouldn't buy a Teacup Chihuahua a rope toy like this unless it's one of those pint-sized ones who think they are Rottweilers.

It's hard finding the right dog toy that can withstand strong canine teeth. We've bought so many dog toys over the years that we would spend gobs of money on just to have it ripped to shreds in a matter of hours. Like I mentioned before, you want to buy a toy that "fits" the dog. Maury has all but devoured stuffed cute stuffed toys and even those strong animal shaped nylon toys. I don't care what the material is made out of if it's stuffed he will find a way to the stuffing..HaHa!

The Tugga Wubba Dog Rope Toy lasts longer than any other toy we've bought for him and is made of durable ballistic nylon material. The straps at the end remind me of fire hose material which he seems to favor chewing on the most.  This is the perfect interactive toy by far to play with your dog with. Very strong! Kong is known for being the creators of some of the strongest dog toys available in my opinion. Now I'm not saying the Kong Tugga Wubba will last forever but for $6.89 you can bet you will get your money's worth out of this toy.
